Teaching Diversity

This past week we celebrated the "50th" anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's "I Have A Dream" speech. We watched the speech and then we took two eggs - 1 brown and 1 white and cracked both eggs to see what was on the inside.  Of course my students immediately noticed that yes we may all look different on the outside, but we are exactly the same on the inside.  Hopefully this lesson will stick with them for a life-time. :)
