Our class elf, Buddy made a dance video!

Looks like he enlisted the help of all our adminstrators and myself too.  I didn't know they could dance so well. :)  Oh Buddy- you are too silly!

Carolina Children's Home Donations

WOWZER!!! That pretty much sums up how amazed I am at all our third grade classes who donated for this wonderful cause. I know these children at the home will appreciate these gifts during this holiday season. We received all the items on the list, plus over $100 to spend in gift cards.  Thank you parents for being such a blessing in these children's lives!

Silence for Sandy Hook Elementary

As a teacher and a mother I can't even imagine the fear and grief experienced by all.   My heart aches for everyone involved in the Sandy Hook tragedy. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with all of you now and forever.

Thanksgiving Festivities - GOBBLE, GOBBLE!!!

I hope you all enjoy the Thanksgiving recipe card holder for our craft we made. There is a recipe that your child is very excited to share with you this year for Thanksgiving. Each year I hope you bring out this card holder during this holiday season, and know how very thankful I am to have taught your child. Thank you for always being such wonderful and supportive parents. You make my job so much easier and I appreciate all of you and everything you do for your child each and everyday!

Happy "Turkey" Day!!! :)

We enjoyed some special treats this year made by our homeroom mom Mrs. Morgan, and her helper Mrs. Williams. They created some extra cute and special turkey treats for us this year - of course cute ideas that I will have to steal and save for next year too. LOL!

They were all so yummy and delicious!

Thankful Writings!

This year all my students wrote about someone whom they are thankful to have in their lives.  This was by far their best writing piece all year and I am so excited for them to share this piece with you.   They took these home yesterday and they should be giving their laminated writing to whomever they wrote about.  I hope you will cherish these forever. :)

ROCK MAN RULES!

One of our favorite field trip/studies each year is having the "Rock Man" come for the kids to do the gem mining.  Each year I get so tickled watching their little faces light up from all the excitement.  We brought the rocks back and went through our gems to count and categorize them. I can't wait for them to bring them home to share with you. :)

Pizza Party w/ Principals :)

Students were thrilled to learn that we would have a pizza party today with the principals to celebrate our class being the Box Tops winners for 3rd grade!  We enjoyed some pizza from Little Caesar's and beautiful weather on the new park benches provided by PTO.  What a great way to end this week. :)

Veteran's Day Celebration

We are so thankful to Hunter's dad, Mr. Bell for coming today to speak with our class.  He shared with us why he decided to join in our military forces, and even shared some videos and pictures of his experiences when he served.  I truly believe my students now have a better understanding about Veteran's Day and the real sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform.  Here's a slideshow today of our celebration in class.  HAPPY VETERANS DAY on Sunday to you and your family! =)

PAWS Cafe for 1st Nine Weeks

We had our very first PAWS Cafe today! Congratulations to MaKenzey Crosby and Valerie Scofield for being our very first PAWS Cafe guests! They both have truly displayed all the qualities of our School Pledge and have represented our class very well! I have been looking for "Paws"itively Awesome Students since the beginning of the school year and both of these students are definitely role-models for their classmates. They strive each day to be Respectful, Responsible, Caring, and Trustworthy students. Here are a few pictures of this exciting day for them! And remember...I'm already looking for two more PAWS Cafe guests to represent our class for the Second Nine Weeks!!

Angry Verbs

Students were so excited to do this writing activity involving Angry Birds.  They created stories making sure to include a beginning, a middle and an ending.  When you get a chance stop by and check them out. I am super proud of what a creative bunch of kiddos I have this year. :)

Homework Club Reward Celebration

As you all know, each 9 weeks students receive 3 HW passes to use in case life happens and their homework doesn't get done.  To acknowledge my students who have managed to remain in our HW club I decided to reward them with a popcorn and movie party on Friday.  There were surprised and excited and I am so proud of them all.  New HW passes were given out last week.
