Choosing "Just Right" Books

It is so important that our students choose books that are "just right" for them. Using three different sized pieces of clothing, students voted on which of the three pieces of clothing was "just right" for a student in our classroom. We related shopping for clothes to "shopping" for books. Next we created a list of things that made books too easy, challenging, and JUST RIGHT! :)

First Days Memories!

It's hard to believe that we have been in school for a full week! I have LOVED getting to know each one of your children. We have been learning so much about one another, and making many new friends. We've made "ME" bags, self-portraits, learned new school procedures, decorated our Reader/Writer notebooks, and so much more!

Back to School!

I can't believe that summer vacation is finally over! I hope all of you had a wonderful and relaxing break and are ready to embark on our trip Around the World - Island Style! By now you should have received your postcard from me. Remember to bring it in on Wednesday for a special treat. I can't wait to meet, and get to know each and every one of you. ;) I am sure I will recognize some of you from seeing you on our hallway last year. Please do not have any fears about your first day with me, and know that we will have a very fun and exciting year in 3rd grade.
