Reward for MAP Goal Met in Math!

I am so proud of all my students who improved and met their Math MAP goal this week.  We enjoyed some treat treats this past week - root beer and coke floats along with some extra recess. :)

Field Trip

Thank you to all my parents and chaperones for helping to make this field trip a success. The kids were well-behaved and enjoyed their scavenger hunts. I heard so many compliments from the kids that they loved being able to visually see the exhibits and relate it back to what we've been learning in the classroom.

Farewell to Ms. Guinn!

We were able to enjoy one last full and fun day with Ms. Guinn today. Students brought gifts and made a scrapbook of letters for her to keep. It's hard to believe that our time with her is gone but we wish her the very best and know she will be a great teacher. :)

Hoppy Easter!

What a nice celebration we had before spring break. Thank you to all our parents who brought in goodies and helped out. :)

The students enjoyed making their Easter baskets in class last week. I am sure they never thought they could make a basket from a piece of poster board but wolla - here are the final products!

Guidance Workshop

Last week we enjoyed some great lessons from our guidance counselors on understanding what people with disabilities endure each day. Students rotated stations in our Learning Commons and were able to take on some of these disabilities for just a few moments. Some students had to put blind folds on to demonstrate what it would be like to be blind. Others tried writing their names with their mouths because they couldn't use their hands. I was very proud of my students and how they realized all the obstacles people with disabilities have to overcome. I think it made them realize how fortunate they are and how they should go out of their way more to help those in need. We want to thank our guidance counselors and parent volunteers who worked so hard to set up for us.
