Bittersweet good-bye for Miss Wilson

Today we said good-bye to our sweet USC intern, Miss Wilson.  We've had the best semester and made so many wonderful memories.  We enjoyed giving her all her presents from each of us.  I am super excited to say that we raised $100 for her from the whole class with our collection. I want to thank all of our parents for your kindness and generosity.  She will be surely missed, her but we know she is bound for great things and her future students will be so blessed to have her as their teacher.  We LOVE YOU Miss Wilson! "You're off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so.get on your way.":)

Miss Wilson made little treat bags for each of our students.

International Visitors From Eygpt

We were pleased to welcome these gentlemen to our classroom today.  They shared with us about their classrooms in Egypt and where they live and what students they teach.  One of them is married and his wife is expecting their first child this week!! How exciting!!! Our boys and girls did an amazing job of asking some insightful and intuitive questions.
Please pat your child on the back as well because ALL of our students did a JAM UP job of listening and paying attention and showing off what awesome students we have at CSE. :)

Tagxedo Project

We've been learning about Egypt in preparation of our international visit this week.  Students worked really hard to research this country, and create a technology piece using the software Tagxedo program to create images related to Egypt.
Mr. Brown even left a note complimenting our students on all their hard work.  High five boys and girls! :)
If you get a chance, come check out our displays. :)

Terrifice Tongue Twisters

While working on our unit with figurative language, we did a fun activity where students used alliteration and their names to create tongue twister sentences.
We even had one of our administrators, Mr. Brown take notice  and write us a sweet note on our hallway display. :)  Way to go boys and girls!

Spring Celebration/Easter baskets

I hope your kiddos all came home super excited to show off their Easter baskets.  They worked so hard and were able to bring home many treats for break. :)

Mystery Reader!

We were super excited to have a mystery reader come to our classroom the week before spring break.  Students were given clues to try and figure out who it was coming.

SURPRISE!! It was Miss Wilson's mother who used to be a teacher herself. How cool! :)
She read the book, Pink and Say (one of my personal fans) which goes right along with our Civil War unit in which we are currently studying.

Next she brought pink eggs for students with the word "courage" on them.  The theme of this book is about having courage and how it helps us overcome struggles in life.  Such an awesome lesson to go along with our read aloud.  So thankful Mrs. Wilson was able to come and visit with us and it's easy to see why her daughter is such a fabulous teacher!

Boosterthon Fun!

I am SUPER proud of ALL my students because each one of them ran all the laps.  We also raised over $1,000.00 for our school.  THANK YOU so much to all of you who participated and please continue to collect funds.  All the money is due by this Wednesday, April 15th. :)
