100th Day Celebration

Can you believe we have been in school for 100 days now…well technically 101 days as of this post. :)  It seems like just yesterday I was meeting my babies for the first time as 3rd graders.  They were shy and unsure of themselves, and now they are starting to really blossom and take off.  I am super proud of all my kiddos and their progress this year.  Can't wait to see how much more they grow before the end of the year….only 80 more days to go folks. :)

If I Lived In A Snow Globe...

Students wrote stories about what would happen if they lived in a snow globe.  I think it is very fitting for the weather we are currently having this week. :)   It's "SNOW- joke" that they love this topic so I was estatic for them to be able to have some time off to enjoy the fun white stuff. :)

Man Fun with iPads

I want my students to have as much access to iPads as possible.  I found some cute QR code games to reinforce place value, bar graphs, and pictographs.  The students used these games in class this past week and LOVED every minute of them.  Each child was able to hold and play the game using an iPad. :)

Force and Motion --Marshmallow Shooters

We've been learning about push and pull, friction, and how to measure movement.  When I saw this idea on Pinterest (my FAV), I knew it would be a wonderful fun lesson for this unit.   Thankfully, a parent volunteer made these for us and we discussed and demonstrated that little force won't move an object very far (or very fast), but if you use a STRONGER force, your object will move faster and travel farther.  We had a lot of fun practicing and shooting and I hope your child's marshmallow shooter made it home to demonstrate for you. :)

Can't believe I actually caught this one flying through the air. LOL!

2nd Nine Weeks PAWS Cafe Winners

Congratulations to Sydney and Logan.  Each of them enjoyed their very first PAWS Cafe luncheon and a movie this past week.  I am very proud of you both. :)
