Fossil Stations

This past week I set up 9 different stations for the students to have hands-on learning/reviewing about Fossils.  We had an iPad staton for digging up dinosaurs.
Next was a playdoh station where kids could make imprints of their names with letters.

Another station was sorting cards like mold, trace and cast fossils.
Students also worked on learning differences between cast and mold fossils by writing definitions, using words in a sentence and then drawing a picture.
Another station was used for information texts on fossils and paleontology.
Their favorite station was this one where they became paleontologists and went on their own "dig." Students used toothpicks to separate the chocolate chips from the cookie. Afterwards they got to eat their cookies. :)
Lastly, they drew out the process of fossilization.
