Pop Rockin' Descriptive Writing

The students have been learning about adjectives, words that describe nouns.  To help reinforce this we did a fun activity involving Pop Rocks.  

  Each child was given a bag of Pop Rocks.  Students had to use their five senses to write down what they observed when first opening up their bag of rocks.

 Next, they wrote down descriptive words and finally put it all together into a formal piece of writing.

 We listened to the sounds our mouths made to help write even more descriptive words. :)

 This was probably the most fun part of this writing activity!!!
