We discussed our heros in class this month in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. The students really enjoyed writing about their heros. I was very impressed with how well they all wrote. They are currently on display in the hallway right now.
Living far away from ALL of our family & lifelong friends isn't always easy but when educators, new friends, coaches, administrators, etc. encourage our 'babes' to write about those we luv & miss so very much....well, you've simply done more than you will ever know!! Faith wrote about my Dad, her Grampy, with whom she shares an indescribable bond (extremely similar to mine with him, hence we call Faith ((for MANY reasons)) my ((Amy's)) "Mini-Me!")! Sharing the story with my Dad, literally, brought him to his knees in tears! Missing those we love at times becomes physical pain & being encouraged to express our love via words is one of life's most precious gifts!! Thank you Mrs. Prevatte, from the depths of our hearts, for assigning this exercise, you've made moments in our lives that are beyond words. xo
